WHAT MAKES CHAOYIN SPECIAL?
We are the first independent elementary school in Richmond to offer a Mandarin Language Program within the existing B.C. Curriculum that utilizes the best combination of Western and Chinese teaching methods. We celebrate and recognize Chinese heritage and values. Students at Chaoyin experience rigorous academics with a STEM focus that builds foundational steps towards secondary school, university, and beyond. We offer a project-based approach to education and integrate academics with arts education to promote creativity and imagination. We inspire our students through character building programs, mentorship, and develop a love of challenges and problem-solving.
WHAT ABOUT THE NEW SCHOOL BUILDING?
The Chaoyin School campus was built in 2020 and opened to the community in 2021. It is a state-of the-art academic facility with the best of interactive technologies and resources. The entire building is equipped with a highly efficient air filtration system, which effectively removes the spread of airborne viruses in order to ensure the health of our students.
DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES?
For a nominal yearly fee, the School provides after school care for students from 3:05pm-5:40pm. The School also offers a wide range of after-school specialty activities from 3:05pm-4:05pm. Students and their families can choose to enroll students in STEAMOJI, Basketball, Visual Arts, Chess for the specialty programs.
WILL MY CHILD NEED TO TAKE AN ENROLLMENT TEST?
All applicants are required to attend an interview with our Head of School and Admissions Office, either in person or online. During this meeting, we will conduct an Academic Readiness Assessment (ARA) to understand the applicant’s preparedness. We ask that the applicant be accompanied by at least one parent for this interview.
WHEN IS THE APPLICATION DEADLINE?
The Deadline for Kindergarten to Grade 7 Application is January 31 of the current school year. Please contact the Admissions Department at info@chaoyin.ca for all admission inquiries, including if you are seeking mid-year enrolment as it may be possible for certain grades.
