Descriptions of Programs
GAEA – Visual Arts
- Cartoon Drawing – Students can choose and draw their favourite cartoon characters in this class. While exploring their creativity, students develop basic drawing skills.
- Sketching – A key fundamental drawing skill. Students will be introduced to lines, tone and basic shading techniques with a focus on black and white imagery.
- Students are introduced to the basics of painting. The class will go over how to prepare canvases, clean brushes and handle acrylic paint.
Steamoji-STEM
- Fabrication: 3D designs, 3D pen designs, STEM related crafts,
- Physical computing: Robotics, coding, micro ontroller, etc.
- Engineering: Study Principles and Practical Operations
- Digital Art: graphic designs, animations, special effects.
Basketball
- Drills designed to enhance control and confidence with ball handling, resounding, passing, and shooting
- Series of Fundamental Movement Training to build coordination and athleticism.
- Learn to initiate plays and execute as a team
- Our Traditional Kungfu classes teach discipline, confidence, and self defense. In addition, students will develop great coordination, speed, and power.
- There will also be a variety of fun martial arts related games to play in class. Each class will be 90 minutes.
- It will be divided into stretching, kicking, stances, Sanda (Chinese Shuaijuao、kickboxing), forms, and conditioning.
- Through the learning, students will benefit not only to enhance the health but also received great traditional culture knowledge – a valuable asset – in the process of growing up.
Chess
- Introduction to the chessboard and pieces: Learning the structure and coordinate representation of the chessboard, as well as the names, appearances, and basic movement rules of various pieces.
- Basic movement rules of pieces: Detailed explanation of the movement of each piece, including pawn advancement, rook’s straight movement, knight’s L-shaped moves, etc.
- Check and checkmate: Introducing the special status of the king and the concept of check, as well as how to avoid being checkmated.
- Capture rules: Learning how each piece captures opponent’s pieces, and understanding the rules and restrictions involved.
- Basic tactical concepts: Introduction to some basic tactical concepts such as double attacks, defense, offense, etc.
- Methods to end the game: Learning how to achieve checkmate, execute a winning move, or force a draw, as well as the basic principles of ending the game.
- Practical exercises: Reinforcing learned knowledge through solving simple chess problems and conducting simulated games, gradually improving problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Compliance with rules and chess etiquette: Emphasizing the importance of adhering to chess rules and etiquette, such as move sequence, improper movements, etc.
